When Outlook is the better fit
Outlook may be the better choice in these cases.
You work in Word, Excel and PowerPoint every day
Microsoft 365 plans pair Outlook with the Office apps, and the Personal, Family and Premium plans include the desktop versions.Source3
You use an iPhone, iPad or Mac
Outlook has Mac and iOS apps. Akera has a macOS app, but no iOS app yet.Source2
Your organization needs Teams and compliance tooling
Microsoft 365 business plans include Teams and, depending on the plan, identity, device management and compliance tools such as Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Purview.Sources57
You want to bring years of mail with you
Akera cannot import mail from Outlook or Gmail yet. Outlook is the better fit if you need to keep an existing mail archive in place.
