Akera Intelligence

Ask in plain language. Akera Intelligence searches your mail, calendar and contacts, answers with the emails it used, and asks before it makes changes. It never sends mail on its own.

Akera Intelligence is included on every plan. It runs on infrastructure Akera operates, and your mail is not sent to a third-party AI provider.

Ask, check, approve

  1. Open Intelligence

Choose Intelligence in the utilities bar (Alt+4 on desktop), or use the Intelligence orb, which opens a chat card over your mail.

  2. Ask a question

Type in the box that reads “Ask about your mail, calendar or contacts…”. If an email is open, Intelligence can see it and shows its subject above the box. Attach a file with the paperclip when the question is about a document.

  3. Follow the step log

While it works, Intelligence lists what it searched and which messages it opened. Add a follow-up at any time, or stop the response.

  4. Check the sources

Answers appear with the emails they used. Open a source to read the original message before you rely on a figure or a date.

  5. Review and approve changes

When a request changes something, Intelligence collects the changes on one approval card. Choose Approve, or Approve all when there are several, or Cancel. If you cancel, nothing changes.

  6. Return to earlier chats

Chats are saved in the history list. Search your chats, rename them, or delete the ones you no longer need.

An answer with the email it used, and an approval card for the proposed changes. Sample data.

What Intelligence can look up

  • Messages and whole conversation threads, including the text of attachments
  • Calendar events and their details
  • Contacts
  • Folders and mailbox counts

What waits for your approval

Each of these is shown on an approval card first.

  • Moving, labeling and unlabeling, archiving, starring and snoozing messages
  • Marking messages read or unread
  • Creating folders and organizing the mailbox
  • Creating filter rules and blocking a sender
  • Adding a contact and changing your signature
  • Changing or deleting calendar events

What opens for you to review

Nothing is created until you save or send it yourself.

  • A draft reply or new message, in the composer
  • A new calendar event, in the event form
  • A new rule, in the rule editor

What it does not do

  • It never sends mail on its own. It prepares a draft for you to edit and send.
  • It never permanently deletes mail on its own.
  • It does not change anything you have not approved.

Questions to start with

  • Summarize my unread emails. Group them by what needs action.
  • Find emails waiting on my reply.
  • What is on my calendar this week? Flag anything that conflicts.
  • Find newsletters in my inbox and suggest how to file them.

Related settings

  • Settings, AI features: turn the writing assistant, message overview and calendar suggestions on or off, and choose which Smart Folders to show.
  • The writing assistant suggests word improvements while you type, and offers AI Enhance and Smart Reply in the composer.
